SOUTH BEND - Edward Paul Jittler, age 78, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013, in South Bend, Indiana, with his wife and son at his side. Ed was born on November 12, 1934, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Frederick and Emma Jittler, who preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1957 to August 1959, then worked for RCA as a service technician. On April 22, 1967, he married Helen Mary Sandfort, and they made their residence in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Shortly after the birth of their only child, Robert, he joined New Brunswick Scientific Company as a Service Engineer where he was employed for 31 years. He enjoyed his job which involved extensive travel in the USA plus internationally. In 1991 he relocated to South Bend, Indiana, to serve the Midwestern USA service territory until his retirement in 2000. Ed loved being with his family, friends and church family. He was always helpful and there for others without fail. He was active at Clay Church and did volunteer work at the St. Joseph County Public Library book sales. Around the house he was always busy doing projects and always had ideas for the next new project. Ed would always leave people smiling and laughing regardless of if they were old friends or making new friends. His sense of humor and zest for living will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Clay Church - North Campus, located at 52866 Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Indiana.
