SOUTH BEND - Deloris Branson went home to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 6, 2013. Deloris was born on January 4, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Rosie Lee Spivey-Evans Branson. She was the youngest of four children: a brother, Wesley L. Evans; and two sisters, Betty J. Evans-Carter and Shirley Evans-Wright. Her parents, brother Wesley and sister Betty all preceded her in transition. Deloris grew up in Chicago, where she attended elementary school and later graduated from Thronton High School, where she was a very good art student. Deloris accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined the Boosters for Christ Church, where she loved singing in the choir. Deloris came to South Bend in 2003. She joined Emanuel Community Church and remained a member until her passing. She enjoyed going to church and drawing. She also loved watching movies, especially Bruce Li. Deloris was a kind and beautiful person who didn't meet any strangers. She was nice to everyone and would help anyone she could. Deloris will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Shirley and Michael Wright; five nieces, Stacy and Dale Britton, Attaliah and John Nelson, Sherry Thomas, Sandy Carter and Theresa Wood; four nephews, Robert and JoAnn Evans, James Tinzey Jr., James Carter Jr., and Sydney Carter; a special friend, Robert Murray; and a host of great-nieces, family and friends. Services for Delores Branson will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Emmanuel Community Church, with viewing one hour prior to services. Services have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary, where messages of condolence may be emailed to email@example.com c/o The Branson Family.
