Fred Williams Jr. March 28, 1933 - June 29, 2014 PONTIAC - Fred Williams Jr., 81, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI, where he resided. Fred was born on March 28, 1933, in Riverside, TX, to Inez (Butler) and Fred Williams Sr. He was the first African American male to graduate from Buchanan High School. Fred was an Air Force veteran and was full-time in the Army National Guard. He retired from the Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class. Fred is survived by his wife, Willette; son, Ronnie (Dee) Williams; daughter, Rolanda (Mike) Heard; and grandson, Bryan Heard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Fred; sisters, Juanita Tarver, Rosemary Butler; and brother, James Williams. Visitation for Fred will be on Monday, July 7, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI 49107. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at New Good Hope Baptist Church, 112 Fulton St., Buchanan, MI 49107, with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10 11 a.m. Interment Broyles Chapel Cemetery, Riverside, TX.
