Harold R. McElhoe Aug. 10, 1920 - July 8, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Harold R. McElhoe, 93, of Mishawaka, passed away in his residence during the overnight hours of Tuesday, July 8th. Harold was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on August 10, 1920 to the late Jesse and Hazel (Wilcox) McElhoe. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII, serving in both the European and Pacific theaters, and was honorably discharged in 1945. Harold worked for the Ft. Wayne Public Transportation as a Maintenance Superintendent retiring after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Michiana Church of God, and the VFW. Harold is survived by his children; Steve (Cathy) McElhoe of Ft. Wayne, IN: step daughter; Darlene (Paul) Buckel of Mishawaka: and two step sons; Danny (Theresa) Becker of Mishawaka and David (Kathy) Becker of Greenwood, IN. Harold was the grandfather of fourteen and a great grandfather of thirteen. Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgianna McElhoe who passed away on January 18, 1964 along with his second wife, Mary K. McElhoe who passed away on November 24, 2004. Harold was also preceded by a son, Dick Teeters who passed away in 1996. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 11th from Noon until 1:00pm in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, Indiana. A memorial service celebrating Harold's life will be held at 1:00pm in the funeral chapel with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Burial is to take place in the Covington Memorial Gardens in Ft. Wayne at a later date.
