SOUTH BEND - Joseph Smiechowski passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016, in Memorial Hospital with his daughter by his side.
Joseph was born in South Bend on September 3, 1956, to Joseph and Wilma Smiechowski. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and brothers, William and Michael Smiechowski.
Survivors of Joseph include his mother, Wilma; daughter, Marissa (Shawn) Switalski; brother, Eugene Smiechowski; and several nieces and nephews.
Joseph worked many hours throughout his life, but when not working, he loved spending time with family & friends and riding his Harley.

Joe and I were married and out of that union came our wonderful daughter Marissa All of us want a dad like Joe He was her knight in shinning armor He was a great dad to my daughter and for that I am grateful to him always Rest in peace without pain

My husband Randall and I were deeply saddened to hear of his Uncle Joe's sudden passing. We offer our condolences to the family. We have many memories of Uncle Joe that we will hold close to our hearts until we are with him again. Even tho I have only been in the family for a short time he welcomed me in his home and heart and I will remember him always. Randall and I Love you very much Uncle Joe... Missing you forever. We will miss your hugs.

I send my condolences to my cousin and her family, along with my uncle Eugene and grandmother Wilma. This is a great loss to our family as a whole and as time goes by memories will never fade. I love and miss you all. Hopefully soon we can all get together soon. I wish I could be there to help you in any way I could.

Kimberly Smiechowski Sister-in-law. wife of Michael who proceed him in death. He became like a second father to our children, after Mike's passing all our children are suffering a great loss because they feel like they have lost two Dad's now, I just know we loved him very much and he will be mist greatly.
