Wally Rakestraw Obituary
NEW ALBANY - Walter Millen ""Wally"" Rakestraw, 55, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at his home. He was born October 27, 1960, in Tupelo to Bobbie Millen Rakestraw Parsons and the late Alton Clay Rakestraw.
He was a former Weight Master for R & S Haulers and operator of Latham's Hamburgers. He was currently a deli meat cutter at Stokes Grocery. He loved people and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016, at United Funeral Service. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Bobbie Ann Rakestraw Parsons (Richard); a sister, Christy Pitts; two brothers, Nickey Rakestraw (Joyce) and Tim Rake-straw (Susan); his nieces, Amber, Starla, Skyla and Sunni; and a nephew, Claden.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clay Rakestraw; and his grandparents, Robert and Helen Millen and Walter and Donnie Rakestraw.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
