Alex "Benny" Edmiston

HATFIELD, Ky. — Alex Benjamin "Benny" Edmiston, 56, of Hatfield, Ky., passed away Fri., May 9, 2014, at his home.

Born Aug. 6, 1957, in Pike County, Ky., he was a son of the late Alex and Betty Lou Edmiston.

Benny was a disabled coal miner.

He leaves behind to mourn him with broken hearts two sons, Alex B. Jr. (Tammy) Edmiston of Hatfield and Jeremy (Manisha) Edmiston of South Carolina; one grandson, who was the sunshine of his life, Colton Ashane Edmiston; brother, George (Judy) Edmiston of Hatfield; sisters, Sandy Dingess and Pennie (David) Copley, both of Hatfield; four aunts, Janie (Denny Ray) Marcum of Hatfield, whom he thought of and loved as a second Mommy, Edith (Gary) Wellman of Lenore, Bonnie (Jim) Teeters of Delbarton and Connie Lowe of South Carolina; mother of his children, Vicki Williams Kilgore of Slaters Branch, Ky., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sun., May 11, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in Edmiston Family Cemetery at Hatfield with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
