Penny Maynard

DACULA, Ga. — Penny Elaine Davis Maynard, 51, of Dacula, GA., went home to be with the Lord Feb. 23, 2014.

Penny was born Dec. 6, 1962, in Logan County, to Marion and Katheryn "Sally" Davis of Delbarton. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Isom and Eller Vannatter-Ooten, and paternal grandparents, Marion and America "Merkie" New Davis.

Penny was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She was a proud graduate of Lenore high School (1981), West Virginia University's School of Nursing and worked the majority of her career as a geriatric nurse practitioner. Penny was a Christian and attended Grace Baptist Church in Dacula.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Kevin Maynard, and their three beautiful children, Kelli Katheryn Maynard, Kevin Cristian Maynard, and Tyler Dwayne Maynard, all of Dacaula; her parents Marion and Katheryn "Sally" Davis of Delbarton; sisters, Donna (Barry) Mounts of Johnson City, Tenn., and Sonya (Roger) Davis of Gallipolis, Ohio; brother, Marion Michael (Nikki) Davis of Braselton, Ga.; her in-laws, Ken (Wanda) Maynard of Lenore; Ken Jr. (Rita) Maynard of Franklin, Tenn., and Sean (Candace) Maynard of Gaithersburg, Md., and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Penny was the love of her husband's life and her Daddy's Girl.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 27, at Little Dove United Baptist Church with Elder Jimmy Maynard and Rev. Josh Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Ooten Cemetery at Trace Creek.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the church with services starting at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Sean Maynard, Ken Maynard Jr., Brian Ooten, M. Michael Davis, Roger Davis and Barry Mounts.
