HOLDEN, W.Va. — Armenta Ann "Helen" Frye, 89, of Holden, departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 21, 1923, in Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Bernie and Dicie (Gore) Spurlock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Frye; two daughters, Dicie Frye and Lomel "Pokey" Maple; one son, Johnny Frye; two brothers, Eddie and Ray Spurlock and one grandchild, Johni Christene.

Those left to cherish her memory include four sons, Claude (Pat) Frye of Georgetown, S.C., Edward "Pete" (Odetta) Frye of Holden, Mac (Gale) Frye of Logan, and Bernie Frye of Holden; one daughter, Wanda (David) Ellis of Whitman; sixteen grandchildren; thirty six great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Freeman Funeral Home, with Pastor A.G. Lilly of Greater Life Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Pecks Mill, W.Va.

Friends may call Friday, November 11, 2013, from 6 - 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
