PECKS MILL, W.Va. — Tishie Carter, 88, of Pecks Mill, departed this life Fri., April 4, 2014, at Trinity Healthcare of Logan.

Born June 4, 1925, in Shively, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Allie Pridemore Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carter; one son, Lester Roy Carter; one daughter, Yvette McFadden; three sons-in-law, Wayne Sanders, Dennie Ferrell and Jesse White; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Adkins Carter; two sisters, Zell Manns and Laura White; two brothers, Dell Bryant and Lloyd Delmas Bryant, and five grandchildren, Angel Riley, Sonny White, Derrick Carter, Becky Hamaker, and Jessie Marie Carter

Tishie was a member of the Mill Creek Church of God. She loved God, her husband, and family more than anything. She was a true Saint of God. Tishie loved to work in her flower garden, to can, and to crochet.

Those left to cherish her memory include seven daughters, Mabel Ferrell, Bettie (Gary) Moore, Sadie White (Terry Anthony), Ida (Roger) Walls, Martha (Roger) Frye, Debbie (Stacy) Dingess, and Patricia (Clarence) Lee; four sons, Bobby (Donna) Carter, Bill (Betty) Carter, Alvin Carter, and Alton Carter; two sisters, Florida White and Theora Fillinger; 35 grandchildren, George Spurlock, Gwen Spurlock, Kristen Sanger, Joshua (Jason) Weber, Derrick Spurlock, James McFadden, Chris Sanders, Michael Sanders, Tishie Sanders, Debbie Nichols, Gary Moore, Bobby Moore, April Dawson, Jesse Dale White, Vonnie White, Billy Carter, Matthew Carter, Bobbi Jean Ball, Angie Simpkins, Rosie Mullins, Michelle Williams, Roger Walls, Gabriel Frye, Cody Frye, Melissa Martinez, Christy Stafford, Stephanie Carter, Amanda Carter, Alton Michael Carter, Devon Carter, Alton Carter Jr., Bethany Weimer, Jordan Dingess, Ginny Marcum, and Miranda Ellis; 56 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren.

Services will be held at noon Tues., April 8, at Mill Creek Church of God with Rev. Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
