DINWIDDIE, Va. — James Kelly Cox Jr., 73, of Dinwiddie, Va., passed away Tues., April 15, 2014.

Born in Honaker, Va., he was a son of the late James Kelly Sr., and Gladys Ray Cox. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty R. Blevins.

Mr. Cox was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a proud member of the Matoaca Sportsman's Club.

Survivors include his wife, G. Ruth Cox; two sons, J. Greg Cox and Michael K. Cox and his wife, Tammy; a daughter, Jennifer L. Cole and her husband, Richard; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Cox, Mandie K. Cox, Samuel T. Cole, and Morgan K. Cole; two sisters, C. Sue Diamond and her husband, Ralph, and Dorothy A. Ireson; a brother, Randy K. Cox and his wife, Debbie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Fri., April 18, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sat., April 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
