CHAUNCEY, W.Va. — Tyler Andrew Frye, 14, of Chauncey, departed this life Sun., June 22, 2014, in Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born April 27, 2000, in Charleston, he was a son of James "J.J." and Tammy Prater Frye of Chauncey.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, J.B. and Pauline Frye, and maternal grandfather, Charles Prater.

Along with his parents, survivors include his sister, Montana Frye of Chauncey; maternal grandmother, Beulah Prater of Rossmore; three uncles, Charles Prater, Elba Frye and Andrew Stollings; one aunt; Barbara Cooper; several cousins and lots of friends.

Tyler was entering the 9th grade as a freshman at Logan High School. He played baseball, football and basketball and lived life to its fullest as avid hunter and fishermen. Tyler was a best friend to all who knew him.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs., June 26, at Logan Middle School gymnasium with Rev. Mike Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Curry Cemetery at Rossmore.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the school.

Pallbearers will be West Virginia State Troopers.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Collins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 307, Switzer, WV 25647. which will be donated to a charity of the family's choice.
