Floyd Bumgarner Sr.

MILL CREEK, W.Va. — Floyd Dingess Bumgarner Sr., 71, of Mill Creek, departed this life Fri., Aug. 15, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born Jan. 18, 1943, in Logan, he was a son of the late Arthur Goble and Myrtle Bumgarner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and RosaLee Bumgarner and Melvin and Laura Baisden; three brothers, Fred, Charles and Saul Bumgarner; two baby brothers, Willie and Howard, and two sisters, Viola Bumgarner and Irene Gillum.

Floyd enjoyed hunting, watching TV and working in his garage.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Verma Bumgarner of Mill Creek; four sons, Terry, David, Floyd Jr., and Brian Bumgarner; four brothers, Donald, John, Norman and James Bumgarner; eight grandchildren, Aran, Kendra, Valarie, Shawn, Lori, Christopher, Haley and Joshua Bumgarner; and six great-grandchildren, Chase, Ryan, Jon, Jake, Jazzlyn and Jalee.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tues., Aug. 19, at Freeman Funeral Home with Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial will follow at Adams-Abbott Cemetery at Harts.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Terry Bumgarner, Floyd Bumgarner Jr., Brian Bumgarner, Shawn Bumgarner, Joshua Bumgarner and Terry Barker.

Freeman Funeral Home at Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
