HENLAWSON, W.Va. — Raymond Ray Adkins, 71, of Henlawson, departed this life Mon., Nov. 24, 2014, at Pikeville Medical Center.

Born June 2, 1943, in Logan, he was a son of the late James and Betty Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleve and Celia Adkins and George Martin; one son, Denver Anthony Adkins; two sisters, Vivian Baisden and Beverly Carter, and his father and mother-in-law, Everette and Maude Mullins.

Raymond enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a retired coal miner and did carpentry.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Eloise Adkins; one daughter, Angela (Virgil) Bartram of Davin; three sons, Rick (Hope) Mullins of Henlawson, Raymond (Crystal) Adkins of Stirrat, and Bucky (Felicia) Mullins of Henlawson; one brother, David (Debbie) Adkins of Henlawson; six grandchildren, Dakota Adkins, Heather Mullins, Savannah Bartram, Hannah Adkins, Baylee Bartram and Jacob Adkins, and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Madison Spears.

Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Rick Mullins, P.O. Box 363, Henlawson, WV 25624.

Services will be held at noon Sat., Nov. 29, at Freeman Funeral Home with Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson Cemetery at Henlawson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
