WALTER MOUNTS
LENORE, W.Va. — Walter Mounts, 77, of Lenore, went home to be with the Lord Sat., June 20, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 24, 1938, at Holden, W.Va., he was a son of the late Greenway and Antha Rowe Mounts. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Noah Mounts; sister, Imogene Blackburn, and a special granddaughter, Brittany Maynard.
Walter was a retired coal miner having worked more than 30 years in the mines. He was also a longtime member of the Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church. He served his country well as a member of the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Dempsey Mounts; sons, Steven (Regina) Mounts of Claremont, N.C., Mark Shane (Kay) Mounts of Columbus, Ohio, Billy (Carla) Mounts of Kermit, Kelly (Paige) Mounts of Ragland and Brad (Katie) Mounts of Conover, N.C. ; daughters, Teresa (Roger) Maynard and Tiffany Preece, both of Lenore; brothers, G.W. (Beatrice) Mounts of Trace Creek and James (Rhonda) Mounts of Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Charles, Paul David and Bill Dempsey, and sisters-in-law, Nellie Mounts, Sandra Runyon and Connie Moore. He also leaves behind eight precious grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tues., June 23, at Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Dempsey Cemetery at Lenore.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, at the church with special services starting at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.

I was real sorry to hear of Walters passing. Always enjoyed talking with him. Hope to see him in Heaven with his Dad and Mom, and his brother Noah.
