Joseph J. Gillan

Joseph J. Gillan age 90 of Maple Shade passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday June 12, 2011. Born in Phila., he lived in Maple Shade for 60 years. Joe was a retired gauge maker at the Frankford Arsenal where he served as instructor to apprentices in the trade for over 35 years. He was a Coast Guard veteran, serving during World War II receiving the American Theater, European, African and Middle Eastern ribbon with 4 stars for his service. Joe was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5714.
Beloved husband of the late Dolores (nee Morris) Gillan, who passed away December 2009. Loving father of Dolores (Philip) Brennan, Joseph (Gayle), Edward and Robert (Donna) Gillan. Dear grandfather of Philip (Jennifer) Brennan, Maureen (David) Dudeck, Rachel, Robert, Edward and Krysten Gillan. Proud great grandfather of Mackenzie, Madden and Caden Dudeck, Kerrigan, Quinlan, and Rylan Brennan and Garrett Gillan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 20th 11AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. Internment-Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken,Pa. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday 10-11AM at the church. Memorial contributions would be appreciated in Joe's name to the church at the above address.
