Mark Fitzmaurice Obituary

Mark F. Fitzmaurice, age 78, of Middleboro, formerly of Brockton, died March 24, 2013, at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a period of failing health. He was the loving husband for 57 years of Marjorie A. (Wallin) Fitzmaurice. Born and raised in Brockton, Mark was the son of the late Richard and Kathryn (Grimes) Fitzmaurice. He was a 1952 graduate of Brockton High School and attended Stonehill College. For 30 years, he had been employed by United Parcel Service and retired as a manager. Mark was a generous, giving man who enjoyed time with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of the Campello Veterans Firemans Association, the VEGA Club and the Elks Lodge 1548 in Wareham. He enjoyed many summers at the familys vacation home in Onset; golf and horse racing in Florida. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Paul Fitzmaurice and his wife Catherine of Bourne, Lisa Anderson and her husband Michael of Brockton, Amy Hidenfelter and her husband Michael of Bourne; six grandchildren, Kelly and Mark Fitzmaurice, Katelyn and Nicole Anderson and Tomas and Leah Hidenfelter; four sisters, Kathleen Lessard, Noreen Mussari, Faith Porter and Mary Colombo; a brother, Richard Fitzmaurice Jr.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Fitzmaurice. Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Thursday 4-8 p.m. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 8:30 a.m. for a funeral service at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro, at 10 a.m. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marks name may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro, MA 02346.
