Silva, Francis F. - Brockton
Francis Frank Silva, resident of Canton and formerly of North Easton and Florida, passed away at the age of 83 on June 12th. Frank was born and raised in North Easton and attended schools there as a sophomore He played for Oliver Ames basketball team and won a letter and was very proud to wear it, being the smallest on the team. A while after leaving school he enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War for 4 years and spent 2 of the years in Alaska. During the next several years the family moved to Stoughton, Florida and then to Brockton. Frank worked different jobs during his life. He worked for the City of Brockton for many years. He also worked for his brother-in-law who also had an awning company in Florida, and at one time worked at hotels in Miami Beach at a bellman. Frank loved sports, and while living in Massachusetts he would travel to Florida to watch the Red Sox while they were at spring training. In later years Frank's father passed away in 1955 at the age of 63. Frank was a very caring, loving and devoted person to his family. As the years went by his mother's health started to deteriorate and he devoted his entire life to take care of her and his brother John. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. In 2000 his mother passed away at the age of 98 years old. That goes to show you the kind of care that she got. Frank was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Silva. He leaves two brothers Tony Silva of East Bridgewater and Joe of Brockton. He was the brother of his late sister Mary Beers of Florida, Elsie Miller of Louisiana, Ann Jacobs of Brockton, Rose Bosselman of Framingham, John Silva of Brockton and Manuel of North Easton.
