Tamule, Katharine C.  
Katharine C. Tamule, 100, died peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2015. She was the wife of the late Leonard Tamule. Born and raised in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Sidonia (Ruder) and Edward A. Barrett and the sister of the late Edward L. Barrett. She graduated from Smith College and the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. During World War II, she served as an Army nurse with the Sixth General Hospital in North Africa and Europe and was discharged a Captain. She retired after 21 years from the Brockton/West Roxbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and VFW 1046. A devout Catholic, Katharine was a communicant of St. Edith Stein/ St. Edward Parish. She loved gardening, music and animals. Katharine is survived by her loving children, Leonard Tamule and his wife Rima of Brockton, Harry Tamule of Lincoln, RI., Sidonia Dalby and her husband Frederick of Northampton, and Mary Devin and her husband William of Brockton; her seven grandchildren, Aistis Podziukas, Leonard B. Tamule, Elizabeth Dalby, Christina Dalby, Katharine Devin Holcolmbe, Jacqueline Devin ODonnell and Caroline Devin; her 2 great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Wednesday, April 22, at 9:30 a.m. thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Tierney, Joseph M.  
Joseph M. Tierney, 88, of East Falmouth passed away peacefully at the JML Life Care Center in Falmouth on April 19, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. Joe was born on June 5, 1926 in Boston, son of the late Thomas and Mary Tierney. Joe was the beloved husband of Carole Nervi Tierney, loving father of Susan York of El Paso and Karen Johnson of Avon, loving stepfather of Natalie Winsor of Raynham, Cheryl Young of Millis, Mark Young of North Attleboro, Richard Young of North Carolina, and Thomas Young of Rockland and the late Michael Young, He is also survived by two grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Joe also leaves his two sisters, Alice Blankenship of California and Geraldine Holmes of Florida. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Tierney of Weymouth and Arthur Tierney of Florida, and one sister, Jean Winkley of California. Joe was a 1944 graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph. Joe joined the Navy in June of 1944 and served on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. After being honorably discharge from the Navy, Joe attended Wentworth Institute where he studied Drafting. He was employed by Northrop Grumman Corporation where he worked until his retirement. Joe belonged to many veteran and fraternal organizations. After retiring, Joe moved to the Cape where he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Carole, and their families and friends. Joe enjoyed traveling and was especially thrilled to visit Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at noon at St. Anthonys Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy., East Falmouth, MA. Torres, Ethel A.  
Ethel A. (Harbord) Torres, 89, a longtime resident of West Bridgewater, died Thursday, April 16, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Torres Sr. Born and raised in Karlsruhe, Germany, Ethel had met and married her husband Tom in Germany during World War II. Prior to her retirement, she had worked in the corporate offices of the former Mammoth Mart Corporation, and finished her career working at the Superior Court in Brockton. She enjoyed gardening and loved to shop, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and had cherished her vacations to Colorado with her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Gregory Torres and his wife Nancy of Hillsboro, N.H., and Thomas Torres II and his wife Kelly of East Bridgewater; her grandson, Kyle Torres; and her nephew, Harry York of Colorado. She was predeceased by her sister, Eva York and her brother-in-law, Walter York. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service to be held Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in the Blanchard Funeral, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman. Travers, Robert J.  
Robert J. Travers, age 79, a lifelong resident of Mansfield and member of the International Union Operating Engineers Local 4, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was the beloved husband of the late Estella V. (Savini) Travers to whom he was wed for over 50 years at the time of her death on April 13, 2009. His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated Saturday, April 18, at 9 a.m. in St. Marys Church, 330 Pratt St. (Rte. 106), Mansfield. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Mansfield.
