Cabral, Christine A. - Bridgewater  
Christine A. Cabral, 85, of North Haverhill, N.H., formerly of Bridgewater, died September 14, 2016, in the Grafton County Nursing Home. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Dorothy A. (Doon) and William E. Burke. The family moved to Bridgewater when she was an infant and she lived in Bridgewater until 2014. Christine graduated from Bridgewater High School, class of 1948, was the class secretary and was very active in organizing all of her class reunions. She went to Bryant & Stratton Business School in Boston, graduating from their secretarial program. Right after graduation, she began working for Samuel Cholerton Insurance in Bridgewater, as a secretary and continued working there when it became Estabrook & Chamberlain Insurance Agency. She took time off after having each of her children but always went back to Estabrook & Chamberlain and remained a customer service representative for personal insurance there until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Women's Club and the High Pond Association Social Club. Her hobbies included baking, painting, sewing, crocheting, making crafts and decorations, bingo and traveling. But Christine will always be remembered for her tollhouse and kiss cookies as well as her famous chicken and rice soup. Wife of the late John P. Cabral, she is survived by her son, Richard Cabral and wife Robin of Bellefonte, Pa.; daughter, Joyce Hennessey and husband Robert of Woodsville, N.H.; daughter, Cynthia Donaldson of Long Valley, N.J.; son, John Cabral and wife Mary of Oak Point, Texas; son, Jeffrey Cabral of Biddeford, Maine; daughter-in-law, Alexandra Cabral of Williamstown; grandson, Drew Donaldson of Freeport, N.Y.; granddaughter, Brooke Donaldson of Long Valley, N.J.; granddaughters, Fiona Cabral, Madeline Bell and Megan Bell, all of Oak Point, Texas; and grandson, Nathan Bell of Oak Point, Texas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends. She was the mother of the late Brian Cabral; mother-in-law of the late Robert Donaldson; and sister of the late Edmund Burke, Raymond Burke, David Burke and William Burke. Visiting hours will begin in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, Friday, September 23, at 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held in St. Basils Chapel at Bridgewater State University at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Caruso, Mary A. - Brockton  
Mary A. (Marelli) Caruso, age 93, of Brockton, died September 20, 2016, surrounded by her family, due to complications from Alzheimers. Mary was the loving wife of the late Peter J. Caruso. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Guencani) Marelli. Mary was a 1941 graduate of Brockton High School and following her graduation from Boston City School of Nursing in 1944, she enlisted in the Army as a nurse. For many years she was employed as a nurse in Brockton Hospitals Labor and Delivery unit and retired as a school nurse in 1988 from Brockton High School. Mary adored her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, and taking daily walks. She had been a longtime communicant of St. Edwards and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches. Mary is survived by her children, Peter Caruso Jr. and his wife Myrlene of Brockton and Lisa Austin and her husband Richard of Foxboro; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and James Austin and Matthew and Jennifer Caruso. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Monday at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery. Colford, Peter J. - Medford  
Peter J. Colford, 58, died suddenly Sept. 22 while playing baseball, the sport he loved. Peter was the loving son of Janet (Cowe) Colford and the late John Colford of Bridgewater. He graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham HS in 1976 and North Adams State in 1981. Peter and his previous wife and dear friend, Helen (Radziszewski) Colford, raised their son, John, in Medford, where Peter was active in youth sports. Peter was a giving man who often donated blood to Childrens Hospital and served dinners to the homeless. He was an avid athlete who loved all sports, and his spirit for life was infectious. He also loved reading nonfiction, listening to classic rock and spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves behind his son, John, his mother, Janet, and his longtime loving companion Joan Negast of Medford. He was the loving brother of Jennifer Colford (Michael McCarthy), Robert Colford (Patricia), Jill Colford Schoeniger (Eric) and Steven Colford (Cristin). He was Most Fun Uncle of Sarah, Conor, Abby, Brady, Allison, Andrew and Matthew. He was predeceased by his trusty sidekick and beloved border collie, Kirby. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Central Square Congregational Church, 71 Central Sq., Bridgewater, followed by a burial at Mt. Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, Sept. 26, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater. Conniff, Lawrence - Springfield  
Lawrence Conniff, 68, of Springfield, formerly of Abington and Brockton, died September 19, 2016. Born in Somerville and raised in Springfield, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Sullivan) Conniff. Larry served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as a technician for New England Telephone/ Bell Atlantic, Nynex and AT&T for many years. Lawrence was the husband of the late Joanna V. (Apanowicz) Conniff; beloved brother of Mary Conniff of Wilbraham, Jane Fitzgerald and her husband Michael of Longmeadow, Patricia Conniff of Springfield, Daniel Conniff and his wife Pamela of Springfield, William Conniff of Springfield, and Michael Conniff and his wife Deborah of Worcester; a loving uncle of 8 nephews; devoted owner of 5 dogs. Conway, Marilee A. - Whitman  
Marilee A. (Rich) Conway, 71, died Monday, September 19, after a brave battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Conway. Born in Brockton and raised in Hanson, she was the daughter of the late Leon H. and Mary (Chamberlain) Rich and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High, Class of 1963. Prior to her retirement, she had worked doing clerical services for local law offices and the Ocean Spray Company. As a lifelong resident of Hanson, Marilee had been longtime member of the Hanson Baptist Church. She loved knitting and crocheting, had enjoyed the time spent in her garden and was truly fond of her precious Kitties She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Phipps and her husband Winston of Hanson and Judith Hetrick and her husband Gary of RI; and her sister-in-law Margie Rich of Bridgewater; as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Howard A. Rich. Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 23, at 11 a.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson.
