Jezard, Jack F. - East Bridgewater  
Jack F. Jezard, of East Bridgewater died peacefully on Sept. 20, 2016, at the age of 89. Jack was the loving husband of Phyllis, with whom he recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Jack was the son of Samuel and Lillias (Forbes) Jezard. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1945, where he lettered in football. After proudly serving during World War II aboard the USS Navy Destroyer, the William R. Rush, he met and married Phyllis OConnor on August 26, 1951. They settled in East Bridgewater and Jack worked for 38 years for the New England Telephone Company and was a longtime member of the Telephone Pioneers. Jack was an accomplished athlete who played semi-pro football during the 1950s, and enthusiastically followed New England sports teams. As the patriarch of the family, he loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow as individuals and he will be missed by all. Jack was devoted father of Jane F. Jezard, E.D., of Centerville, Kathleen L. Maher and her husband Stephen of Brockton, Michael F. Jezard and his wife Mary of Cocoa, Fla., Stephen J. Jezard and his wife Debra of East Bridgewater, and Jacqueline A. Edwards and her husband Thomas of Hanson; loving Papa of Heather, Shannon, Stephen, Michael, Amy, Elizabeth, Matthew, Jessica, Bridget, and Bryan; and PapaJack to Courtney, Nicholas, Kayleigh, Ashleigh, Jenna, Stephen, Ryan, Jack, Kylie, Cara, Connor, and Nora; loving brother of Mary Crosier of Cohasset, J. Frank Jezard of S. Easton, Gordon Jezard of Brockton, Ann Bennett of Bridgewater and the late Dorothy Howland. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and old friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to a funeral home service at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. followed by a burial at Central Cemetery. Jones III, George A. - Middleboro  
George Andrew Jones III, 54, lifelong resident of Middleboro, died unexpectedly at his home, on Thursday, September 22, 2016, after a brief illness. Born and educated in Middleboro, he was the son of Elaine E. (Wilson) Jones and the late George A. Jones Jr. George was a talented mason for over 30 years, working with Howard DeMoranville, Angelo Ballaneri, A&A Concrete, and for many years with Wilson Masonry. George enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved animals, fishing, camping, playing horse shoes, and lending a hand whenever and wherever possible. He enjoyed family cookouts, and will be warmheartedly remembered as kind hearted. He was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his mother, Elaine Jones, of Middleboro; three sons, George A. (Jones) Onasis, of Taunton, Ryan Jones, of Ariz., Shawn Jones, of Norfolk; two daughters, Carrie OShea, of Foxboro, Stacy Reynolds, of Taunton; two brothers, Robert Jones, of Biddeford, Maine, and Dennis Almeida, of Taunton; two sisters, Donna Lapham, of Lakeville, and Elaine Cochrane, of Biddeford, Maine; four grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was the brother of the late David N. and Kimberly J. Jones, and Cheryl A. Correia. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 26, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, September 27, at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro.
