Schwartz, Robert S. - Easton  
Robert S. Schwartz "Robbie", of North Easton, devoted husband of the late Dorothy Schwartz, beloved partner of 16 years of Sandy Forman, passed away peacefully on March 25. Loving father of Susan Spiller and her husband Howard, Janet Billings and her husband Daniel, and Linda Chernov. Cherished grandfather to Jamie and Michael Spiller, Samuel and Danirose Billings, and Emma Elwell. Loving Zadie to Alex Elwell. Adored brother of Cynthia Hurwitz, Eileen Katz, Sheila Frawley and Elise Michelson and the late Arthur Schwartz and Ada Cohen. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Service will be held at Temple Beth Emunah in Brockton on Friday, March 27 at 11 a.m. Memorial observance at his residence Friday afternoon following the service and Sunday 1-6 p.m. Donations in his memory can be made to Old Colony Y Campership Fund, 445 Central Street, Stoughton, MA 02072.

Simmons, Margaret  
Margaret ""Peg"" Simmons age 80 of Brockton passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on March 22, 2015 at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank Simmons. Peg was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Harrison and May Allen and lived in Brockton her entire life. Peg was the matriarch of loving and extended family. All who became her friend became her family. In her early years she worked in the garment industry of Brockton. Once she and her husband Frank started their own family, her life's work was devoted to her family. This included not only her own children but also whenever she was needed as caretaker to her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. Peg loved Bingo and would attend local games with her husband and often volunteered her time in running the games. She especially enjoyed gardening and would keep up the gardening and lawn care at the home she shared with her daughter. Peg was the devoted mother of two sons Frank Simmons of Halifax and his wife Julia; Russell Simmons of Bridgewater and his former wife Mary of Avon and her daughter Patricia Stinson of Brockton. She leaves 7 grandchildren Bryan Simmons of Warren, RI; Matthew and Arron Stinson of Brockton, Lindsay Simmons of Fall River, Kristen Simmons of East Taunton, Shannon Simmons of Avon, Madison Simmons of Halifax and 5 great grandchildren Aiden Stinson and Autumn Stinson both of Brockton; Carrie Anne, Mckenna and Lyla Simmons-Holyoke all of Fall River. She was the sister of Barbara Nash of Abington, the late Robert, Patricia and Butch Allen. She also leaves two very special sisters- in-law Mert Lincoln of Bridgewater and Betsy Allen of Concord, NH and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and several loving friends. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home Thursday 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at noon. Snyder, Shirley G.  
Shirley G. Snyder, 86, of Brockton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her home in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Frank Snyder. Born Friday, July 6, 1928, in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Yoffe) Snyder. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the city where she was educated. She was an avid television watcher who enjoyed comedies and loved eating chocolates and sweets. She is survived by her sisters, Rose Eveline, and Dorothy Daly; a brother Carl Snyder and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary White. Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 24, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Stetson, Florence O'Brien  
Florence A. Arlie (Hattie) O'Brien Stetson of Avon, formerly of Nova Scotia, Canada, passed away unexpectedly March 18, 2015, at the age of 95. Wife of the late Frank Stetson and George T. OBrien, she was the loving mother of John D. OBrien and his late wife Barbara of Plymouth, Flora H. Zablocki and her late husband Stanley of Avon and Margaret Carrara and her husband Richard of Pembroke; devoted sister of the late Sally Porter, Viola Archiblad, Carrie MacLaughlin, Margaret Archibald and William Hattie. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Arlie was born in Nova Scotia and had lived in Avon since 1954. She was a retired L.P.N. who had worked at Goddard Hospital, Stoughton, for 35 years. She enjoyed spending her summers in Nova Scotia at the family homestead. She was a regular at the Avon Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards and other board games. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, immediately followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA.

Stone, Mildred  
Mildred Stone, 87, of Abington and Eastham, MA, died peacefully on March 25, 2015 two years after the passing of her husband of 60 years, George Shaw Stone. Millie was the daughter of Alexander Hagstrom and Helene (Hollihan) Hagstrom of Brockton, Massachusetts. She was the sister of the late Alexander (George) Hagstrom and mother of Peter and wife Helen of Bourne, Jeffrey and wife Candy of Pembroke, Gregory and wife Ann of Falmouth, Todd and wife Elise of Concord, and Richard of Pembroke. She was the grandmother of thirteen adoring grandchildren, Ryan, Kara, Allie, Matt, Nicole, Alissa, Katie, Sebastian, Emma, Kelsey, Natasha, Brodie and Isabella and great-grandmother of Brooklynn. Millie grew up in a time of personal and national hardship, as she lost both her father and mother early in her life and lived through the Great Depression and World War II. She worked her way through school, waiting tables at the Toll House in Whitman, earned her degree at the Chandler School for Women in Boston, and worked at Mass General Hospital until she married George in 1953. She loved her friends from her days at Brockton High School and Camp Rockne and her friends from Abington and Eastham. She generously donated her time and loved her work at Lower Cape Outreach on Cape Cod. But most of all, she loved her husband George, to whom an unkind word was never spoken. She lived a long and meaningful life and was always true to herself, her family and friends, and had a steadfast faith in God. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service celebrating her life, to be held on Tuesday, March 31st at 10:30 a.m. at the Joy in Christ Lutheran Church, 21 S. Bedford St., Abington, MA with private interment following at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. There will be no visiting hours.
