Barbara A. Crean

Barbara A. Crean, 73, of West Bridgewater and East Taunton died peacefully Sept. 23. Barbara was the daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy Piantoni and grew up in Brockton. Barbara began working at her parents' bakery, Dorothy Lous Pastry Shop in Brockton, at the age of 12. Barbara and her husband Richard later opened Dorothy Lous Pizza Pantry in West Bridgewater. Years later she worked with her sister and nieces at Cheryl-Ann's Bakery in Brookline. Barbara graduated from Brockton High School in the Class of 1958, and married her high school sweetheart Richard on Oct. 11, 1959. They raised their family in West Bridgewater. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was the loving wife of Richard J. Crean of East Taunton; and mother of Richard L. Crean and his wife Michelle of Chatham, Michele A. Giovannini and her husband James of Bridgewater, Patricia L. Schlegel and her husband Paul of West Yarmouth, Laurie J. Jaruse and her husband Robert of East Taunton and Kevin A. Crean and his wife Eileen of Bridgewater; loving Nana of Aidan, Anthony, Maria, Michael, Melissa, Jake, Drew, Richard, Megan, and Erin. She was sister of Joan Moore of Brockton, Louis Piantoni of Mansfield, and Dorothy Perewicz of Brockton. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, Friday, Sept. 27, at 8 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater, at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery and visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
