Blanche B. (Sears) Hicks, 84, a resident of Easton for the past 65 years, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013. She was the wife of Frank L. Hicks for 65 years. Born in Brockton, Aug. 24, 1929, a daughter of the late late Harold C. and Bessie (Evans) Sears, she was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1947. Blanche held many positions before becoming a mom and worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for her husbands business, F.L. Hicks & Son Excavating of Easton. In later years she served as an election worker and poll warden for the town of Easton. She is survived by two daughters, Donna E. Randall and her husband Gerald of Easton, Barbara E. Carlson (wife of late John W.) of Barrington, N.H.; and three sons, William F. Hicks and his wife Yudoria of Taunton, Norman D. Hicks and his wife Marie of Easton and David L Hicks and his wife Mary of Manistique, Mich. Blanche was predeceased by her sister, Grace E Coppi and a brother, Harold G. Sears. Blanche was also the grandmother of 14 including the late William F. Hicks Jr.; and 25 great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and four step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Monday at 11 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton. Interment will follow in Furnace Village Cemetery, Easton.
