George Berzinis

George Buzz Berzinis, 89, of Bridgewater, died peacefully at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on February 4, 2014. Born on October 10, 1924 and raised on Cary Hill in Brockton. He was a graduate of Brockton High School and served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He was a self-employed contractor, proud owner of Berzinis Construction. George was a member for over 50 years of the Baalis Sanford Masonic Lodge in Brockton. Most important to him was his family and giving them a loving and happy life. These times included cherished memories of summers spent at their cottage in Lakeville, babysitting his precious granddaughters, and dancing with his beloved late wife, Rainee. George was the beloved husband for 53 years of the late Dorothy Rainee (Pratt) Berzinis; loving and devoted father of Daneille Berzinis and Valerie Berzinis Mahtesian, both of Bridgewater; loving and devoted grandfather of Cassandra Mahtesian and Victoria Mahtesian; a loving fatherly guardian to Gregory Doyle and wife Ginny; a loving mentor to Michael Fahey of Halifax and Jeffery Canty of Raynham; brother-in-law of Elaine Pratt and the late Richard Pratt of Brockton; uncle to Jeffrey Berzinis, Gail Tunstead, Brian Knight, David Pratt, Andrea Creedon, Ted Pratt and Marilyn Marvill. A private graveside service and scattering of ashes will be held on a later date at Elmwood Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
