Lawrence H. Red Bradshaw, Taunton Fire Department, retired, 91 years old, died at his home Friday morning, June 20, 2014. Red was the husband of Jennie (Perry) Bradshaw for over 67 years. He was educated in Taunton schools. A communicant and choir member of the former St. Pauls Church, Red was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and a former choir member there. Red was a firefighter for over 31 years for the city of Taunton and was mostly assigned to Engine 5 at the Oak Street Station. After he retired, he worked for the Bristol County Savings Bank as the building superintendent. Red was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox, enjoyed gardening, was a member of the Taunton Lodge of Elks, a member of the 8 Ball Club, but his true passion was his family, especially the grand and great-grandchildren watching them enjoy his backyard pool. He served in the U.S. Navy
from 1942 to 1945 aboard the USS Merrimack, a fleet tanker. Besides his wife Jennie, Red is survived by his sons, Russell Bradshaw and his wife Ann of Taunton, Kevin Bradshaw and his wife Tammy of Sandwich and Lawrence Punk Bradshaw Jr. and his wife Kristie of Taunton. Red was the grandfather of 11; and the great-grandfather of 14. He was the brother of Lorraine Marcos of Middleboro and the late Eileen Fierra, Viola Bradshaw and Alice Bradshaw. Red was the brother-in-law of Manuel and Carol Perry of Raynham; and the uncle of several. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Rte. 138 South), Taunton, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Andrews Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery.
