Mary L. Lowder

Mary Louise Mary Lou (Castanino) Lowder, of Berkley, died on Nov. 11, 2012, at the age of 57, after a lengthy illness. Mary was the loving daughter of Catherine E. Castanino of Brockton and the late Joseph J. Castanino. She grew up in Brockton and Whitman and attended Whitman Hanson High School. Mary married Michael E. Lowder on Oct. 5, 1973, and they raised their family in Abington and Bridgewater. Mary worked for Raytheon for 18 years and then Clean Harbors for 8. She enjoyed traveling, tending to her flower garden, taking long car rides, music, the NE Patriots, and Cape Cod. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with Michael, her best friend and husband of nearly 40 years. Caring mother of Michael E. Lowder Jr. and wife Tonya of Hopewell, VA, Jennifer A. Cunningham and husband Robert of Plymouth. Loving Gammy to Dylan, Casey, Race, and Robbie. She was the beloved sister of Linda M. Prouty and her husband Ernie of Somerset, Cathy A. Longueil and her husband Kevin of Middleboro, Nancy J. Presti and her husband Paul of Brockton, Donna L. Burgess and her husband Michael of Montreal, QC, and the late John J. Castanino. Mary will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and members of The Girls Club. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Marys life at the Commercial Club, 1 Neilson Avenue, in East Bridgewater on Friday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the celebration of life her family will accept visitors from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater concluded by a Memorial Service starting at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
