Donna M. McDonough

1945 - 2016

Donna M. (Fucci) McDonough, 70, of Whitman, died on July 1, at her home. She was born in Weymouth in 1945, daughter of the late James S. Fucci (Weymouth) and Catherine (McGann) Fucci (Dorchester), she graduated from Weymouth High school in 1963 and worked in the Weymouth public school system for 28 years as a paraprofessional specializing in special education. She co-founded the Whitman women's softball and soccer leagues and coached youth soccer and baseball in Whitman for over 10 years. She was the wife of Robert L. McDonough (Dorchester) for 49 years and sister to the late James Fucci and Dale Hanley. She leaves behind three sons, James P. McDonough of Cork, Ireland, Brendan M. McDonough of Moorestown, New Jersey and Shaun C. McDonough of Bridgewater, Massachusetts as well as nine cherished grandchildren. Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, at 10:15 a.m. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman.
