Maria T. Gomes

Maria T. (Gomes) Gomes of Brockton died peacefully April 6, at the age of 77. Maria was born in Portugal and was the loving daughter of the late Alvaro and Isabel Gomes. She married Jose in 1957 and the two immigrated to the United States in 1971. While raising her children in Brockton, she worked as a seamstress in Brockton at Davis Clothing for many years. Maria loved gardening and she enjoyed being a fulltime grandmother. Her family and friends were her life. Maria was the loving wife of the late Jose Gomes. She was the beloved mother of Jose and Cathryn Gomes of Brockton and Emanuel and Jaime Gomes of Bridgewater; proud grandmother of Courtney and Ben OLoughlin of Randolph, Daniel, Michael, and Lindsay Gomes of Brockton, and Ashley and Kyle Gomes of Bridgewater; beloved sister of Conceicao, Cesar, Lucilia, Ferdinando, Carlos, and Aldora. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours Monday, April 11, from 5-8 p.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.
