Donna Marzilli Obituary

Donna Marzilli of Shrewsbury, Vt., formerly of Whitman, Mass., died unexpectedly on February 15, 2016, at the age of 57. She was the daughter of Elaine and the late Thomas Marzilli. She had lived in Whitman for a long time and graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, Class of 1977. She lived in Taunton for a while before moving to Vermont with her partner Frank Weir. Donna was the assistant manager of Pierce's Country store in Shrewsbury. She also worked at the Weathervane in Rutland until its closing. Donna was the sister of Marilyn Ross of Cumberland, R.I., Anita Roig of Elyria, Ohio, Paula Marzilli of Pennsylvania and the late Joseph "Jay" Marzilli of Brockton; and sister-in-law of Jean Marzilli of Brockton, Mass. She was the loving aunt of Michael Marzilli, Justin McPhee, Katherine Cox; and great-aunt to Miranda Cox. Donna is survived by many close cousins and dear friends who will miss her terribly. There will be a memorial and celebration of her life Saturday, February 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Cardinal Spellman Knights of Columbus Hall, on Bedford Street (Route 18), in Whitman. There will also be a memorial service in Shrewsbury, Vt., May 14.

Her Shrewsbury neighbors' hearts are broken. I loved stopping in for a chat with Donna at the Pierce store. She told many sweet funny anecdotes about her family. My heart goes out to you all.

Oh my God, no no no. Dear Elaine. Oh sweet hearted. I'll be in touch. Anything I can do I will. Peace to us all.

When Tom was alive and still vivacious, he etched a wine glass for me, believe you me, he filled it too. And that hat, so dashing. My prayers go out to all who knew Donna personally. May the Peace of Christ be with you.
