Betty DiBona-Leahy, lifelong resident of Holbrook, died Dec. 3, 2012, at Emeritus Assisted Living, Plymouth, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony J. DiBona and Robert G. Leahy; devoted mother of Richard DiBona and his wife Elizabeth of Holbrook, Robert DiBona and his wife Gail of Halifax, Debra Lentz of Carver and Robyn Cameron of New Hampshire. Betty was the loving and devoted grandmother of Christopher DiBona and his wife Julie, Rachelle DiBona, Michael DiBona and his wife Jessica, Wesley DiBona, Jillian Short and her husband Greg, Bill Lentz Jr., Thomas Cameron, Joseph Cameron and Eric Cameron and his wife Kassey, four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Taylor, Michael and Andrew DiBona and many nieces and nephews . Betty is also survived by her brother, Harold Sampson and his wife Eunice of Rockland; her sister, Barbara Pierce of Plymouth and the late Evelyn "Dot" Furbish. Born in Abington, Betty was the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel Sampson. A homemaker for most of her life, Betty loved sewing and ballroom dancing. She was devoted to her family and lovingly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. Her family is grateful for all her love, sacrifices and the many memories they will forever cherish. She will always be loved and never forgotten. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 South Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bettys name to Holbrook Firefighters Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 222, Holbrook, MA 02343.
