David E. Svedine Sr., 70, of Raynham since 1968, died peacefully at home on Dec. 31, 2012. A son of the late Carl and Barbara Svedine, he was raised in Avon. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a welder at Fore River Shipyard in Quincy then worked for General Motors Corporation in Westwood until retirement. He enjoyed watching all sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren; he was a member of Lutheran Church of the Way in Raynham and American Legion. David was the beloved husband of Sandra (Poillucci) Svedine for almost 50 years; loving father of Sherri Coakley of Taunton, David E. Svedine Jr. (and Paula) of Raynham and Wendi Walsh (and David) of East Taunton; devoted grandfather of Bryan, Colleen, Crystal, Lucas, Dana, Jessica and Erica and great-grandfather of Jacob, Lillyana, Cayson and Aubree; brother of Viola Szydlowski of Avon, Lawrence Svedine of Brockton, Norma Hooke of Rockland, Donna McDonald of NH, brother-in-law of E. James Poillucci (and Anne) of Stoughton and the late Roberta Daversa, Barbarba Tibnam and Carl Svedine; and an uncle of many.
