David John Pluster, beloved son of Julianna Tolash and Mark Pluster, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the age of 17. Born in Stoughton, David lived his early years in Brockton. He moved to Taunton in 1998 and began his academic career at Our Lady of Lourdes and was subsequently enrolled in the Gifted and Talented Program at East Taunton Elementary. He graduated from Taunton Catholic Middle School in 2009. At the time of his death, David was a Junior at Coyle and Cassidy High School and in his own words the community at Coyle is amazing! I love going to school every day. David had been involved in scouting since he was 7 years old. He was a member of Pack 87, Troop 22 and, after having attained the rank of Life Scout, was a candidate for Eagle Scout. David was inducted into Order of the Arrow in 2010, he reached the level of Brotherhood within the organization and was a member of the Ceremonies Team as well. This spring, David was nominated to be Sr. Patrol Leader for the 2013 National Youth Leadership Training Program. He was also a member of the staff at Camp Norse. According to David, scouting was his greatest achievement. David was an active member of Holy Family Parish, where he was an altar server. David was welcomed into heaven by his maternal grandmother, Carol Tolash; and paternal grandfather, Herman Pluster. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving brother, Christopher; his grandparents, John Tolash of Yarmouthport and Ruth Pluster of Sarasota, Fla. He was the nephew of Victoria and Todd Copenhaver of South Yarmouth and Betsy Pryor of Sarasota, Fla. David was the cousin of Michael, Lauren and Anna Copenhaver, all of South Yarmouth; Godchild of Rita Carroll of Lemont, Ill.; great-nephew of Ron Russell and his friend Lyn Dexter of St. Petersburg, Fla. David is also survived by the love of his life, Rebecca Vilk, aka Snowflake; and a multitude of friends. David was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all those who encountered him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial in Holy Family Church, Middleboro Ave., East Taunton, Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Friday from 2-8 p.m. in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Rte. 138 South), Taunton.
