David Michael Farrell, age 53 years, of Middleboro, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 20, 2013, as a result of injuries from a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of Nancy Lee Freitas-Farrell. Born in Taunton, Oct. 9, 1959, he was the son of the late John F. Farrell and Shirlie Ann (Fickert) Farrell of Taunton. David was a graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1978, and went on to truck driving school, working for many various trucking companies; his latest employment was with Morse Sand and Gravel Co. in Lakeville, where he had worked for several years. David was involved in his early years in the 4-H Club, which included the Boots and Saddle Club in Attleboro. He was an avid animal lover and was known as the life of the party. He will be warmheartedly remembered as a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and loving uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, whom he affectionately referred to as Blossom, of Middleboro; a son, Jacob M. Farrell of Middleboro; a daughter, Alicia Lee Farrell and her fiance Kendall Bryant of Taunton; two brothers, John A. and his wife Ruth Farrell of New York, Bruce E. Farrell and his companion Kathy of Berkley; two sisters, Cheryl and her husband Ken Scanlon of Taunton, Lisa and her husband Joseph Tommasiello of Attleboro; and Kenneth M. Zubris of Taunton, whom Dave loved like a son; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 25, from 5-8 p.m. in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
