Donald E. Nelson, 80, of Hanson, and formerly of Brockton, passed away Sept. 22, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born Jan. 24, 1933, in Brockton, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Lois (Smith) Nelson. Raised and educated in Brockton, he attended Brockton High School and later was employed as a master electrician for 50 years. Donald proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He also coached Hanson Youth Baseball for 14 years, loved fishing, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. Donald was the beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Brown) Nelson. He is survived by his loving sons, Wayne and his wife Deborah Nelson of East Bridgewater, Douglas and his wife Denise Nelson of Pembroke, and Eric and his wife Dawn Nelson of Hanover. He was the cherished grandfather of Jon, Dianna, Lauren, Steven, Michael, and Matthew; and great-grandfather of Ryan, Devon, Cianna, Avery, and Cameron.
