Obituary Condolences

Ethel May (Smith) Boklaga passed peacefully away the evening of Jan. 8, 2014. The youngest daughter of the late John W. Will Smith and Eva M. (Lenihan) Smith, she was born Sept. 17, 1922, and raised in East Bridgewater and was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School. Ethel was married to the late William Boklaga in 1949, this year would have been their 65th anniversary. Ethel spent her adult life as a resident of Bridgewater with her husband and daughter. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, and traveling throughout New England. Ethel was also a sports enthusiast; she loved the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox. Ethel is survived by her daughter, Maxine (Boklaga) James; granddaughters, Staci (James) Korske, and Megan (James) Allard and their husbands Jason Korske and Miles Allard. She was also survived by a great-granddaughter, Emmy Korske; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Janett, Mildred, and Doris, and her brothers, Roy, Harmon, and William Vernon Smith. A graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 North Main St., West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to AseraCare Hospice, 40 Washington St., Suite 100, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481, and the , 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
