Gladys V. Moore, formerly of Bridgewater and more recently of Lakeville, passed away peacefully April 30, 2012. She was 93 years old. She was bom in Bridgewater, a daughter of the late Thomas V. Moore and Viola M. Moore. She graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1936, then studied at Bridgewater State College, where she received her bachelor's degree degree in 1940. She also attended Williams School in Brockton for two years. She worked as a secretary at the George Jenkins Co. for 33 years. She then worked at Bridgewater State College for eight years in the purchasing department. She was a member of Beta Gama Sorority, the Bridgewater Garden Club and the Ousamequin Club. She was also a member of the Central Square Congregational Church, Bridgewater. She is survived by her first cousins, Joyce Spruce of Hudson, Fla., and Charles Newton Moore Jr. of Greenfield. Local relatives include her great-nieces, Mary Roberts of Rochester and Kathleen Moore of Bridgewater; and her great-nephew, David Moore, also of Bridgewater. She was the sister of the late Marjorie F. Moore and Calvin Moore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any one of her favorite charities, Heifer Project Intemational of Little Rock, Arkansas; Connecticut Junior Republic Fund, Inc., of Litchfield, Conn; or Central Square Congregational Church of Bridgewater.
