James Jim Kourafas, of Stoughton, formerly of Randolph, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, September 2, 2014, at the age of 90. Born in South Dartmouth, Jim grew up in Randolph and graduated from Stetson High School. Jim was an automobile dealer and real estate developer on the South Shore for many years. For 25 years, he owned Dentchs Stoughton Ford Center, which was the oldest Ford dealership in the country. He then began a long and successful career of real estate development, which he continued working at until recently. Jim was an avid sports fan and season ticket holder with the Boston Red Sox and N.E. Patriots. He was the past president of the Order of AHEPA. Jim summered in Hyannisport with his family for many years. Of all his passions, spending time with family and friends is what brought Jim the most joy. Jim was the husband of the late Mildred (Djerf) Kourafas; loving father of Amanda Kourafas and her husband Kevin Schneider of Marlborough, James Kourafas and his wife Patricia Woodruff of Stoughton and the late Erica Bloomquist; dear grandfather of Cassandra Schneider of Marlborough; devoted brother of Charles Kourafas of Hingham. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Burial in Central Cemetery, Randolph.
