Joseph B. Doherty, 52, of Hanson, formerly of Savin Hill, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, at Beth Israel- Deaconess Hospital in Boston. The son of Carole A. (Wells) Doherty and the late Edward C. Doherty, he was born in Boston, Jan. 17, 1961. Joseph was employed as a computer IT specialist. He was an avid sports fan and passionate hockey player. He was world renowned for his quick wit and slow delivery. Joseph loved his family, his friends and most of all his three beautiful girls. Along with his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Grace M. (Norton) Doherty; his cherished daughters, Meaghan L. Doherty, Catherine G. Doherty and Erin E. Doherty all of Hanson. He was the devoted brother of Edward C. Doherty and his wife Maria Bonzagni of Marshfield, Thomas H. Doherty and his wife Kathleen of Hopkinton, Carolyn M. Clark and her husband Michael of Middleboro and the late Michael G. Doherty and John J. Doherty. He was the nephew of Pamela Robertson of Taunton, Doris M. Curran of Lakeville and Mary Jane McSweeney and her husband John of Hyannis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte. 14 and 58, in Hanson, Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Rte. 14, in Hanson.
