Joseph F. Noonan, of Avon, passed away June 16, at the age of 93. Born, raised, and educated in Boston, Joseph had been a resident of Avon for 51 years. He worked as a Boston Firefighter, at GTE Sylvania in Waltham, and as a Special Police Officer in Avon. Joseph received 2 Purple Hearts for his service in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the DAV, VFW, and K of C, all in Avon. He loved everything aviation and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beloved husband of Helen (Meehan) Noonan. Loving father of Dennis Noonan and his wife Deborah of Brockton, Donna Noonan-Moller and her late husband Vernon of Avon, and the late Bernadette Noonan. Devoted brother of the late John Edgington. Dear grandfather of Dennis, Jr., Vanessa and her husband Kevin, and Brian, and great-grandfather of Lindsey and Sadie. Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Thursday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Michaels Church, Avon at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne. Late WWII US Army Air Corp Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephs name can be made to St. Michaels Church, 87 N. I worked with Joe many years back as a dispatcher in Avon. I can honestly say no one was more respected and admired than Joe. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

We will never forget Joe,he was special.We had many laughs with Joe & Ellie,and nobody loved his country more.Our thoughts go out to Ellie, Donna,Dennis, Bryan, and the entire family. Bless you all.
