Kenneth L. Gill, 79, of Brockton for 50 years, died Jan. 15, 2013. Born in Bridgewater, a son of the late Clement and Winnifred (Bunn) Gill, he was raised in North Easton and graduated from Oliver Ames High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Turner DDR 834 on the Caribbean and Mediterranean waters. He was employed as a millwright in manufacturing. Ken was a lifelong outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed fishing, camping, canoeing and climbing Mount Washington several times. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Berkeley) Gill for 55 years; loving father of Jeffrey Gill (and Debra) of Brockton, Christopher Gill (and Lauren) of Norton, Melissa Gill of Rockland and the late Kenneth L. Gill Jr. and Diane Pittman; dear grandfather of April Mattoon, Daniel Pittman, Rachel Gill and Erin, Ryan and Nicholas Gill; great-grandfather of Ruby and Alabama Matton; brother of Richard Gill of South Easton, Rita ONeil of West Bridgewater, Nancy Larson of North Easton, Winnifred Drew of Raynham, Elaine Noel of Carver and the late Clement Gill; and an uncle of many. All are welcome to calling hours Friday 1-3 p.m., prayer service at 3 p.m. and military honors in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial is private.
