Kevin Michael Riley, age 58 years, of Middleboro, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his home, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Litto) Riley; they had been married for 23 years. Born in Brighton, he was the son of the late Paul Frederick and Barbara Claire (Kitchner) Riley. Kevin was a Brockton High School graduate, Class of 1973. He had been employed by the Brockton school system as a custodian for more than 25 years, in which he spent the majority at the Gilmore School in Brockton. Kevin was a jack-of-all-trades, a builder of bird houses, and was handy around the house. Kevin will be warmheartedly remembered as a devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Kevin loved being a participant in many functions, including the Irish parade, and being part of the childrens daily lives at school. He will always be remembered to them as Mr. Kevin. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; three sisters, Carol Stevens of Everett, Susan Riley of Brockton, and Joan Harris of Taunton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Riley, and his dog, Toby. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, from 4-8 p.m. in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, Nov. 26, at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro, at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro.
