Lorenzo Grosso, age 91 years, of Villa Serra, Middleboro, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Geraldine (Giordano) Grosso. He was born in Bosio, Italy, son of the late Luigi and Carmela (Fassati) Grosso. He served in the Italian Navy. Lorenzo was founder and owner of Lorenzos Italian Restaurant, which he established in 1950. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. Lorenzo was a member of the Sons of Italy, and the Italian Social Club, both of Taunton. He belonged to the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce. He was selected as Outstanding Businessman by the Rotary and the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Luigi T. and his wife Alessandra Grosso of Munich, Germany, and Anthony Lorenzo and his wife Susan Grosso of Wareham; one daughter, Arcangela Maffeo and her companion Joseph Beninato of Raynham; three brothers, Carlo Grosso, Battista Grosso, Ettore Grosso, all of Italy; five grandchildren, Carmella R. Maffeo, Peter A. Maffeo, Liza A. Grosso, Lorenzo A. Grosso and Gioa M. Grosso; three great-grandchildren, Vincent Payzant, Anthony Payzant and Quintin Grosso. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held on Monday, July 29 from 2-8 p.m. in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 30 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro.
