Paula E. (Gruntmeyer) Belanger, 71, recently of Scituate, formerly of Brockton for the past 36 years, passed away Dec. 3, 2012, after suffering from lung disease. A daughter of the late Victor and Eva Gruntmeyer, she was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs and worked for RCA computer division in the early 1960s as a secretary. After raising her family, she worked part-time for Jordan Marsh and later worked part-time for a local printing company. Paulas pride and joy were her children. Watching them grow and become adults and forming their own families brought her much joy and happiness. Simply babysitting or cuddling with one of her grandchildren gave her more pleasure than one could know. As a loving daughter, mother and grandmother, Paula cared for and comforted those in need, on the spot for anyone at all times. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends to Hawaii, Italy, the Bahamas, Florida and many other places. She enjoyed cruises to places in the sun and loved to explore New England, finding new places to visit. Shopping for her wonderful grandchildren was fun for her as she would spend hours buying the right item and hours to find the right card for a birthday or anniversary. She had a heart of gold when any occasion would arise. Paula was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Over the years, the game Boggle became a daily routine for her and her husband Fran, as they would play daily, wearing out three games. It was ritual prior to dinner time, with the winner mostly being Paula, from her reading and crossword puzzle experience. One of her favorite pastimes was to cut out new recipes or invest in a new cookbook. Always trying something new and sharing it with others, she was always the first to say what should I bring? or Ill make something nice. A great cook, Chef Paula will be deeply missed. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family, friends and neighbors from Brockton and from years past. Paula was the beloved wife of Francis E. Belanger Jr.; loving mother of Michael Belanger and his wife Liz of Easton and Julie Roman and her husband Josh of Scituate; dear grandmother of Eva Belanger, Sofia Belanger and Ben Roman; sister of Vincent Gruntmeyer of Wareham and Janet Eldridge of Brockton; and a sister-in-law and aunt of many.
