Robert E. Surdam, age 69, a man with a sense of humor, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 18, 2012, at his home in Wareham. Born Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1943, in Brockton, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Belcher) Surdam. Robert was educated in Brockton schools and had lived in Brockton, East Bridgewater, and for the past 10 years in Wareham. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, but most of all, spending time with his family and making everyone laugh. He is survived by three children, Kristine Surdam of Townsend, Sandi Kabage of Jefferson, Ga., and Robert J. Surdam of Wareham; eight grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Surdam; five sisters, Charlotte Hayes, Joanne Pyne, Dorothy Butler, Helen Boettiger and Mary Dineen; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Priscilla Urbaniak, Charles Surdam and Charlene Randall. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
