Robert William Davis passed away May 22, 2012, following a long illness. Born July 16, 1951, he grew up in East Hartford, Conn., graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in Aquatic Sciences, and subsequently earned his master's degree from Central Michigan University. He worked for 14 years for a private research firm, Lawler, Matuskey and Skelly Engineers, working on projects in New York, Michigan, and Massachusetts, then transferred to Charles T. Main Associates, located in Boston, for a short time, before taking a position with the New England Army Corps of Engineers as an Environmental Resource Specialist, where he had been employed for the past 20 years. A longtime resident of Raynham, Bob was very active in his community, working with the Boy Scouts Troop 79, volunteering as an assistant and later on, as Scoutmaster, and coaching Babe Ruth baseball and Raynham Youth Soccer for many years. He also worked as a soccer referee for the past 15 years and served as vice-president of the South Shore Soccer League for several years. In addition, he served as president of the Taunton River Watershed Alliance for several years and remained on the Executive Board for many years after that. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Georgi Davis; his two sons, Robert William Davis Jr. and Andrew Thomas Davis, both from Raynham; his mother, Grace Davis from East Hartford, Conn.; and five brothers and sisters, Laura Dellaripa in Georgia, David Davis in Connecticut, Michael Davis in Wisconsin, Frank Davis in Connecticut and Mary Tucker in Connecticut; as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., in Taunton, Tuesday, May 29, from 3 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place at the First Congregational Church (Stone Church), 785 South Main St., in Raynham, Wednesday, May 30, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
