Rose M. Palano Obituary
Rose M. Palano, 70, a resident of North Easton for the past 52 years, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 after a period of failing health. Born in Boston, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Spadaro) Palano, she was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. She continued her education at Stonehill College earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Rose began her working career as a psychiatric social worker with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, and advanced to the position of Hospital Administrator at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston. A devout Catholic, she was the co-founder and president of Medjugorje in America, a religious, non-profit organization based on the messages and teachings of "Our Blessed Mother". She continued to work with this organization throughout her illness. Rose was also an enrolled member of the Third Order of Mary. Rose had been active in her parish as a eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, and the parish council. Rose is survived by her devoted friend of 44 years, Mary Lou Lynch of North Easton; a brother, Dominic Palano and his wife Mildred "Millie" of North Easton; sister-in-law of John F. Gibbs; aunt of Michelle Colasante and her husband Angelo of Bedford, Joseph Palano (Godchild) of Braintree, Jason Palano and his wife Gina of Cranston, R.I., Jennifer Wartski and her husband Seth of North Caldwell, N.J., John Gibbs II, Joann Maguire, Kirk Gibbs, and Sheila Tucker; great-aunt to Ariana Palano, Matthew Colasante, Giada Palano, Caleb Wartski, Benjamin Wartski, and Julianna Gibbs; and several cousins. She was also the sister of the late Dolores Gibbs. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton, on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, North Easton, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Easton. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's memory may be sent to Medjugorje in America, P.O. Box 303, North Easton, MA 02356.
