Obituary Condolences

Benjamin Bridden Beals, age 97, of Brockton, died March 10, 2014, at the Guardian Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Glenys M (Groton) Beals. Born June 27, 1916, in Mexico, Maine, he was the son of the late Isaac H. and Lucy (Bridden) Beals. Benjamin was a 1934 graduate of Brockton High School and had lived in Brockton since 1932. He served in the U.S. Army and had worked as meat cutter at C.F. Anderson Grocery Store and at Fernandes Supermarkets retiring in 1979. He was a member of Trinity Church in Stoughton and was a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and had served on the Vestry for many years. He was also a member of the Brockton Senior Citizens Bowling League. He is survived by two sons, Douglas L. Beals of West Bridgewater and Kenneth B. Beals of Midlothian, Va.; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. He was also the father of the late Lawrence Rowan. Visitation will take place Friday, March 14, 2014, from 9-10 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, followed by a funeral service at 11 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St., Stoughton.
