Richard J. Gordon Obituary
Richard J. Gordon, age 79 years, of Middleboro, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Nemasket Health Care Center, Middleboro. He was the husband of Patricia A. (McCarthy) Gordon. He was born in Waltham, son of the late Seth and Stella (Ferry) Gordon. He served in the United States Navy, during the Korean War on the USS Desmoines. He was a retired landfill director and private chauffeur. He was a former member of the Middleboro Lodge of Elks. He was a skilled poker player and enjoyed watching all of the New England sports. Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Plympton; a son, John Barry and his wife Thecla Gordon of Medfield; 7 daughters, Deborah and her husband Bill Edwards of Lakeville, Brenda and her husband Dave Estes of Jefferson, N.H., Stella and her husband Gerry Farquharson of Carver, Barbara and her husband Al Erdos of Rehoboth, Phyllis Lovett and her companion Bruce Dau of Wareham, Christine Gordon and her companion Christopher Mooney of Westboro, Victoria Gordon and her companion Jesse Ellis of Wareham; a sister, Phyllis Zandi of South Boston; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and his Nemasket family. He was father of the late Eric Gordon. Visiting hours will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St. Middleboro, Monday, March 17, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday, March 18, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the , P.O.
