Joshua Edmond Fortin, 35, of Las Vegas, and formerly of Brockton, Mass., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at his home. Born June 8, 1978, in Stoughton, he was the son of Edmond C. Fortin and Barbara L. (Bisbee) Fortin. Joshua lived in Brockton until he moved to Las Vegas 4 years ago. He was a professional card player and spent many hours helping at a local vapor store where his passion was creating flavors. He loved the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed pool and archery. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Cyra A. Fortin, and her mother, Megan Farrell; his sister, Kelly L. Fortin and Kenny Brady; his niece, Kaydence Brady; his fiancee, Theresa Sterrett; his aunts and uncles, Lynne Mercier, Eleanor Young, MaryAnn Coury, Dana Bisbee and his wife Jacquline and David Miller; his great-uncle, Joseph Tuddy Fortin. He is also survived by numerous cousins. He was the grandson of the late Mary A. Kiley, Gerard Kiley, William Bisbee and Sarah Bisbee and he was the nephew of the late Ralph Miller. Following cremation, a memorial gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton, Sunday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. For directions, visit www.Russellpicafuneralhome.com.
